Witnessing the romance between these two humans was lovely. The way they paused and took in each other throughout the day, the way they looked deep into each others’ eyes, and the genuine smiles and gentleness they gave to each other. It’s a good reminder of what that fresh love feels like.
The rain was lite for most of the day, and the overcast sky added to the romance. The weather didn’t seem to phase these two one bit; they were so focused on one another. Side note: whoever came up with clear umbrellas is a genius. They’re a must for rainy day weddings.
After getting ready, the couple chose to do a first look. We opted to head up to the reception room atop the Edgewater Hotel where there were large windows. The look on their faces was so sweet. And this room is a perfect venue for a micro wedding.
Next we took the umbrella out and did portraits on the roof, and then hopped in the car to go over to the Wisconsin State Capitol. Due to the weather we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. If you live in or are visiting Madison I highly encourage you to walk around the Capitol grounds and even go inside to see the beautiful architecture.
The evening provided a fog over the city that was illuminated by street lights. Truly a romantic, cinematic scene as the bride and groom danced on the rooftop.
